Tips to get started with Freelancing in 2018

Today one of my friend has contacted me to know how to get started with freelancing career.

I had written a post (Tips to get started with Freelancing! ) a couple of years ago with some tips for freelancer newbies. But when I am looking at those tips now, few of them seems to be irrelevant or obsolete and some additional tips need to be added. So you can consider this post as the next version of the previous post. It includes the changes happened or noticed by me during these two years of timeframe.

I recommend going through the previous post mentioned above before continuing further on this. Basic things are same as it was there.

Cover Letter As we always say "First impression is the last impression", cover letter creates a freelancer's first impression in client's mind. So I recommend spending significant time and effort to acquire the skill to write winning cover letters.  In this article, Danny covered a good number of tips for us.

Professional Help
You can also take a help from professional courses which will help you in freelancer journey. I know about a course "Introducing Secrets Of A Six-Figure Upworker" by Danny Margulies. You can also subscribe to his free Upwork tips emails.

Continuous Learning
I always witness throughout my freelancer career that proactive learning new skills always puts you ahead of your competitors. As a freelancer, you should always keep adding new skills so that your scope of matching jobs grows and ultimately increase the chance of winning a new contract. It also beneficial in retaining existing client for the long term.
